Nashville, the capital of Tennessee, is an important centre for the healthcare, transportation and banking industries; as well as being home to Tennessee State and Vanderbilt universities. Nashville International Airport serves the city and offers over 380 daily flights to other American states and cities.
Nashville is home to an area known as ‘Music Row’ which contains offices for the Big Four record labels; Universal Music Group, Song BMG, Warner Music Group and Sony/ATV Music publishing. The music industry provides around 19,000 jobs for its citizens. Health care is the largest industry in the city estimating to contribute around $30 billion a year to the economy.
Nashville hosts a variety of annual events which draws in many tourists to the city. One of the most famous events is the Nashville Film Festival which is the biggest in the Southern United States. Other popular destinations include the Opry Mills regional shopping centre and Tennessee State Museum.
