Phoenix is located in Arizona and is the most populated capital city in the United States. The warm weather in Arizona means there is a steady flow of tourism throughout the year as temperatures rarely drop below 20° in the day time.
Phoenix is known for its abundance of golf courses which draws in travellers; many visitors chose to stay in resorts and spas which often have their own golf course. The Chase Field is one of the prime places to hold sports events in Downtown and is the home of the Diamondbacks of Major League Baseball. Another popular destination in the city is the recently completed CityScape development which features an office tower, shopping area and large dining section featuring popular chain restaurants. The majority of the nightlife is located in Downtown Scottsdale which is often referred to as ‘dessert Miami’.
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport is a 10 minute drive west from the city and operates flights to more than 100 cities. The Valley Metro provides regular light rail and bus services allowing easy access to most areas of the city. The majority of workers do not travel by public transport due to the heat as the city is served by a comprehensive freeway and street network.
