Located in West Yorkshire, Shipley is an ideal commuter town situated north of Bradford and north-west of Leeds with a population of around 28,162.
Shipley is home to the World Heritage Site, the village of Saltaire, which was previously a mill built to process alpaca into woollen cloth. In today’s society, it houses a range of restaurants and shops as well as an 1853 Gallery. The town’s Kirkgate Centre provides the locals and visitors with a range of cultural community activities, a world cinema and live music events. Shipley’s Victorian Hall also hosts a variety of concerts.
Bradford and Leeds are all accessibly through Shipley’s road network and a small bus station provides public transport around the town. Shipley Railway Station provides local links to Leeds and Bradford city whilst long-distance trains provide services to Carlisle and London King's Cross.
