There are a lot of outdoor sites and activities in and around Oakham. Rutland Water Park covers 4,200 acres of countryside, it is a space where you can cycle and walk around plus have a coffee at Harbour café. There is a reservoir (Rutland Water) in the park where you can hire a boat and even partake in different watersport activities. Normanton Church is a beautiful building on the shoreline of Rutland Water worth a visit. A fine piece of Norman architecture, Oakham Castle is free to visit. An 8-minute drive away is Aqua Park Rutland which opens in May and is a great fun if visiting with family.
