Berkhamsted is a town in Hertfordshire. It is located about 30 miles North of London. There are train from London Euston to Milton Keynes that stop at Berkhamsted. These trains run every 15 minutes and the journey time is usually 30-40 minutes.
Berkhamsted is a fairly small town and so most of its sights are within walking distance. Berkhamsted Castle is located next to the railway station and is open daily. The castle today is managed by English Heritage; entry is free and the property shuts in the early evening.
The Grand Junction Canal offers pleasant walks along the towpath with canal side pubs. The town has an active arts scene and there are many musical concerts and theatrical performances around the town.
