Abergavenny is a well-known market town, located near the border of England and Wales. The city is almost entirely surrounded by mountains providing a great deal of outside activity for residents and visitors. The town is also a short distance from the Brecon Beacons National Park, which contains the highest mountain in South Wales. The Town Hall is one of the most notable spots in the city, dating back to 1807; the market has run since its beginning in the exact same location.
Abergavenny rail station is situated a few minutes drive from the city centre and operates trains to Manchester, Cardiff and Swansea. The nearest airport is Cardiff Airport, approximately an hour and 15-minute drive away. The airport operates flights to most European destinations such as Scotland and Amsterdam as well as Seasonal flights to destinations in and around Spain.
