Bilbao is the largest city in the province of Biscay. Located in the north of Spain, this city is the centre of commercial and industrial development in the area. It was thus, recognised as such when the city received the Lee Kuan Yew World City Prize which teamed up with the Swedish Nobel Academy, the Nobel Prize for urbanism in 2010. The city was also awarded Best European City 2018 .
Bilbao has been the economic centre and hub of corporate venture for many years. However, when the city began experimenting with rapid expansion and development, this prompted more businesses and economic drive in the area. Nowadays, Bilbao is driven by the service sector and is home to many international and national companies.
It's predominately made up of industrial and urban construction, commerce, and tourism. Bilbao Airport is located 9 kilometres north of Bilbao and transport links are easily found within the city.
