Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia and has a population of 429,000 and is the country’s largest city. Located in the south west of the country, the capital borders Austria and Hungary. Vienna and Bratislava are two of Europe’s closest national capitals and are less than 37 miles apart.
The city is the political, cultural and economic centre of Slovakia and is home to the country’s parliament. Bratislava also has several universities, museums, theatres and galleries and houses many of Slovakia’s biggest business headquarters.
