Toulouse is located in the South West of France and is the capital of the Midi-Pyrénées region. The city’s economy is primarily based around the aeronautics industry, which focuses on the science involved with designing and manufacturing aircraft and rockets. Toulouse houses the headquarters of Airbus in Blagnac.
The city is served by Toulouse-Blagnac Airport which provides flights to international destinations including London, Amsterdam and Dublin. The airport also provides domestic flights to Paris, Brussels and Lyon. Within the city, there is an extensive bus network and the metro system as well as a bicycle rental scheme.
Toulouse is home to a selection of popular sites for both locals and tourists. This includes the Cité de l’espace, which is a theme park focused on space, a grand Palace named Hôtel d’Assézat and a range of religious buildings.
