Bordeaux is a city located in South West France with a population of over 1 million. The city is the worlds, primary, wine industry capital. With over 287,000 acres of vineyards, there are around 960 million bottles of wine being produced throughout the city every year. Bordeaux is home to many historical monuments and is classified as a ‘City of Art and History’. Some of its most popular sites include Europe’s largest square, Esplanade des Quinconces, The Grand Théâtre, which was built in the 18th century and the famous painting gallery Musée des Beaux-Arts. The city is also home to Rue Sainte-Catherine which is a 0.75 miles shopping street featuring many shops, restaurants and cafés.
