Aix en Provence is located in the South of France. It is a quiet and clean town and is wealthier than some of its neighbouring cities, such as Marseille. There are three universities and several French-language schools for international students, which means there is a strong student presence in the city. The nearest airport is Marseille Provence Airport which one of busiest in France. It serves around 132 destinations including Amsterdam, London and Lisbon and sees over 8 million passengers annually.
It is easy to get around the city on foot as you can cross the centre in 15 minutes. This makes it easy to explore the city and to get a real feel for the culture and lifestyle of the people who live there. Aix en Provence has a lot of restaurants for a small town and visitors certainly won’t be stuck for choice, whether they want to spend a little or a lot. Most of the restaurants are in the small area of the old city, between Place des Cardeurs and Cours Mirabeau. The restaurants and bars tend to be more expensive along Cours Mirabeau, the city’s main avenue.
