Transport
As the fourth largest city in North America, Toronto has a brilliant public transport system in place. Toronto’s subway runs from around 6am to 1:30 am, with a 9am start on a Sunday. There are also Trams available in downtown Toronto, complementing the subway perfectly. There are also a number of bus services available that run throughout the city, making most areas of the city easily accessible. Furthermore, there will always be taxis available around any street.
Weather
Toronto is known for being one of the coldest cities in the world in the winter. This is shown by temperatures that have a high of three degrees and lows of minus seven. However, this is a different story when looking at spring, summer and autumn, with temperatures hitting highs of 27 degrees in the summer months and lows of 4 degrees in the spring. The amount of precipitation throughout the year is also pretty constant, with the normal amount of rainfall staying between 6 and 9 days a month.
Cuisine
Toronto is an incredibly multicultural city and plays host to numerous different cuisines. As with any cosmopolitan city, there is a strong Asian contingent within Toronto’s Chinatown, mainly consisting of Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants. However, there is also a large amount of Caribbean options in the Eglinton area and Latin American eateries in the Kensington Market region. If you are looking for quality European options, Little Italy is a brilliant area for Italian restaurants.
Language
Toronto is mainly an English speaking city of Canada, with around 1% - 2% of the population speaking Canadian French. As with Toronto’s cuisines, the city also has a large dispersion of languages. Ranging from Cantonese to Urdu, there are many different communities throughout the area.
