Located in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, Guelph is a city with a population of under 120,000. Known as “The Royal City”, Guelph is roughly a one hour drive (95km) south west of downtown Toronto.
Guelph was named after King George IV, the King of England at the time the city was discovered. Guelph has a positive reputation due to its low crime rates clean environment and generally high standard of living.
The Guelph Transit (buses) provides the main source of local transportation around the city. Guelph is served by a federally chartered railway, the Guelph Junction Railway along with the Canadian National Railway and the Canadian Pacific Railway. The nearest airport with flight destinations outside of Canada and the US is Toronto Pearson International Airport which is located approximately a 45 minute drive south west from the city centre.
