One of London’s most iconic arts centres, Somerset House hosts a diverse array of exhibitions, events and displays throughout the year. From its Film4 Summer Screen to its Christmas ice skating rink, Somerset House is awash with tourists all year long.
Dating back to 1547, Somerset House is a large Neoclassical building that is situated on the Strand. The original building was constructed for Edward Seymour, Duke of Somerset. In the late 18th century, the building was demolished and rebuilt as it is stands today.
There are a number of opportunities to refuel at Somerset House with several cafes, a fine dining restaurant and bars for every season. Tom’s Terrace offers stunning views across the Thames in the summer months, whilst Tom’s skate lounge offers a cost retreat after a session on the ice rink in the winter months.
