The Paris SilverDoor Social 2024

The Paris SilverDoor Social 2024

The Paris SilverDoor Social 2024
22nd March 2024

We began hosting regional SilverDoor Social events in 2019, complementing our long-established partner events in London and Singapore, as networking opportunities for our property partners. Since then, we have hosted 11 events across 8 cities worldwide. The most recent of these was held in none other than Paris, the City of Light. In my opinion, it was the ideal setting; the city's widely recognised romanticism perfectly underscored what these socials aim to foster: connections.

The Paris event brought together some of our key partners in France and surrounding countries, both ones we’ve been partnered with for years and some who are new to our portfolio. The evening was a chance for us all to get together to share insights and expertise, and collaborate on how we’re adapting amidst a unusual year for our sector. It was also, of course, a great excuse for a few drinks and French-themed nibbles against the backdrop of the nearby Eiffel Tower.

When finalising the SilverDoor Social calendar for 2024, Paris was one of the first locations we chose. Not only do we have a growing operator network in the city, but being this year’s Olympic Games host means the Paris travel market is booming. We are seeing high demand, high average rates and new city taxes being introduced amidst these global events - our Paris event was a great chance for our regional operators to share insights from their own experiences.

The Olympic Games: A Catalyst for Change

With the Olympic Games on the horizon, Paris is a significant travel destination and more of a business travel hub than ever before. The Games will not only spotlight the city on a global stage, but also offer fresh opportunities and challenges for those of us in the travel, mobility, and serviced accommodation sectors.

The range of event locations across the city means that every part of the city will be alive with activity, pushing us to rethink our strategies to accommodate the influx of visitors and the evolving needs of this type of client.

Reflecting on my time in Paris, from the memorable SilverDoor Social to my exploration of the city's top serviced apartments, it's clear that Paris is more than ready to welcome business travellers with open arms. As we look towards the Olympic Games and beyond, I'm excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for SilverDoor and our partners in this vibrant city.
