In my role at SilverDoor, one of the key responsibilities is uploading property information to our website. Every property profile on our website is loaded with as much useful information as possible, and displayed in a clear, easy-to-read format. It’s very important for me, and for anyone else at SilverDoor who might provide input for property uploads, that any information we have is as accurate as possible.
Earlier this week, I went on my first apartment viewing. The new-build block in Leatherhead consists of studio, one and two bedroom apartments; some of which were still being furnished. From the first minute of being on-site, I realised there were some smaller details that you just can’t convey via a property profile alone. I got a real idea of just how big a studio apartment is, and the layout compared to that of a one or two bedroom unit. Getting an impression of the sizes was vital for me, as I knew I could include more detail when it came to uploading any apartment of that size. The advantage gained by seeing the property in person was immediately obvious to me.
There was also the importance of smaller details which wouldn’t have been noted on our website had the property not been visited. For example, we’d been told by the operator that the building had a lift; and it did, but it only went up to the third level of the building. The fourth level of the building housed a two bedroom apartment that can only be accessed via the stairs. We weren’t provided with this information initially, but this has now been updated to ensure our clients are aware before booking.
Alongside managing our clients’ expectations, viewing a property enables us to add to our vast portfolio of SilverDoor Verified serviced apartments. On our website, apartments that are SilverDoor Verified, have been viewed and approved by a member of the SilverDoor team. We also have a rosette system in place that rates apartments on cleanliness, decor, furnishings, facilities and the appearance of the building’s exterior. This provides anyone viewing the apartment on SilverDoor’s website with the invaluable assurance that the apartment they’ll be staying in meets our high standards.
As well as being beneficial for members of the SilverDoor team to go on apartment viewings, we would also advise those looking to stay in a serviced apartment on a long-term basis to go on one too. Our Business Relationships team can set up apartment viewings to enable travellers to get a greater idea of an apartment before they commit to a booking. To organise a viewing, make an enquiry and discuss your preferences with a member of our London based Business Relationships team.
