A recent survey has divided the stress triggers that affect business travellers into three main categories.
According to the survey by Carlson Wagonlit Travel, stress among business travellers is mainly caused by lost time, which includes situations in which work is difficult or impossible (such as flying economy class on long haul); ‘surprises’ such as lost or delayed baggage; or broken routines, for example finding it difficult to exercise or to eat healthily at the destination.
Among the 6,000 business travellers who took part, lost or delayed baggage was rated the most stressful factor of their trips.
Poor or no internet connection was ranked the second strongest stress trigger, underlining how vital access to websites and emails has become for business travellers. The third situation most likely to cause stress was flying economy class on medium or long-haul flights.
Being unable to eat healthily and struggling to maintain an exercise regime also came highly in the survey’s rankings.
Careful choice of accommodation can help business travellers maintain the routines they follow at home. The kitchen facilities in serviced apartments allow travellers to maintain control over their diet, while serviced apartment buildings across the world have fitness facilities such as a gym or a swimming pool which make it easier to keep up with an exercise regime. The majority of serviced apartments also have internet access included in the nightly rate.
We would be happy to advise you on which apartment building has the facilities to meet your needs.
