We’re proud of having the most extensive serviced accommodation portfolio on the market which is able to fulfil the requirements of a variety of corporate travellers, but we still believe in quality over quantity. Building a large, comprehensive inventory is critical to effectively serving our diverse, global client-base, and ensuring that inventory is health-, safety- and security-compliant is key to keeping those clients safe.

Our portfolio of more than 1 million apartments can usually accommodate our clients’ global requirements even in the most unique destinations, but we work closely with our operator network to broaden the range and reach of corporate housing in locations that lack stock. Our Acquisitions Specialists regularly onboard new properties for bespoke enquiries, but only if they meet our stringent compliance standards.  

Once onboarded, our operators are contractually bound to comply with the latest legislation and best practice relating to health, safety and security, and they're also obliged to adhere to and align with the SilverDoor Business Code of Conduct. We have several methods to enforce these standards which are monitored closely by me, SilverDoor’s Quality Assurance & Compliance Manager – one of which is our SilverDoor Verified Assessments, which are quality inspection reports.

|What is SilverDoor Verified?

We firmly believe in never offering out an apartment that we wouldn’t stay in ourselves, so we aim to personally vet as many apartments in our global portfolio as possible to ensure our accommodation standards remain the best available.

As part of our Quality Assurance Programme, whenever a member of the SilverDoor team stays in an apartment from our portfolio, they must provide a mandatory assessment of its suitability for our clients. SilverDoor Verified is a quality assurance badge given to an apartment when a member of the SilverDoor team has visited and reviewed it by carrying out a SilverDoor Verified Assessment.

We first conduct key health and safety inspections of key facilities and provisions such as fire exits, fire alarms, fire suppressant systems, door locks and emergency exits, and we also give consideration to the quality of the fixtures, fittings, amenities and the overall experience of the property as a whole. Then there is space to add positive comments, negative comments and free-type feedback on the ‘qualitative’ things that may not be recorded in our content management system (CMS) otherwise. These things could include:

  • How comfy is the bed?
  • Where are local amenities such as green spaces, shops, restaurants and bars?
  • Are there blackout curtains?
  • How easy is it to get around locally?
  • What’s the shower pressure like?

SilverDoor Verified Assessments are used by our account managers to confidently quote apartments that are suitable for each unique enquiry. If a guest is going to be working nights during their assignment, they will want to know if they’ll be able to get good sleep during the day. If a guest has a disability, we want to be able to assure them that the property and surrounding area is accessible. Our SilverDoor Verified Assessments provide the context and insight our guests require.

Every enquiry is different, and a successful stay can depend on a number of factors. We want to make sure the apartments we offer clients are really the perfect place for every guest, so key SilverDoor Verified considerations include:

  • Is the apartment suitable for a relocation guest bringing their young family with them?
  • Is the apartment suitable for a VIP guest?
  • Does the apartment accommodate working from home?
  • Is the property accessible for a disabled guest?
  • How much storage space is there?

Our account managers assess the nuance of each booking scenario and the specific needs of each guest, then use the SilverDoor Verified reports to select suitable apartments and provide detailed reviews of apartment credentials beyond the standard information inputted by operators into our CMS.

|We’re the experts and we need to keep it that way

We service accommodation requests every day, so we have a very good understanding of what corporate guests want, need and expect from the serviced apartments they stay in for business. Our position as an unbiased intermediary means we can share this information with the operators in our supply chain to ensure supply in our inventory aligns with client demand.

Creating a dialogue between buyer, provider and agent is the key to continuous improvement within the serviced apartment sector – we use our SilverDoor Verified Assessments and other quality assurance exercises to guide this collaboration.
