Gamesa, the Spanish wind turbine manufacturer, has announced plans to set up its centre for offshore engineering in Glasgow and establish a logistics and manufacturing centre in Dundee, creating up to 300 jobs in total. Meanwhile, Scotland’s oil industry – which provides a large number of jobs in other cities, such as Aberdeen – shows no signs of slowing down. As they become increasingly popular corporate travel destinations, all of Scotland’s major cities – including Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Aberdeen - have seen a growth in demand for serviced apartments.

We are continuously building our portfolio of serviced apartments in Scotland to ensure that we are able to meet the demands of our clients. In the last week we have uploaded three new serviced apartment profiles in Edinburgh, two in Inverness, and one in Nairn, a small town 26km from Inverness. The serviced apartment industry in the country is growing rapidly and we have no reason to believe that it will slow down.

SilverDoor has a total of 38 serviced apartment profiles in Edinburgh, which is an increasingly popular destination for many companies. As the capital city of Scotland, the seventh largest city in the United Kingdom, and the city with the second highest gross value added per employee figure of any city in the UK (after London), Edinburgh has a great deal to offer businesses. The city’s economy is largely based on the services sector, in particular banking, financial services, higher education, and tourism. With our wide range of serviced apartment profiles in Edinburgh, we are able to meet a great variety of requirements, whether our clients are looking to relocate to Edinburgh, do business there, or simply visit this thriving city.

We also experience a great deal of demand for serviced apartments in Glasgow. We have eight serviced apartment profiles there, all of which were viewed by Nicki Semple (Client Account Support) on a recent trip to the city. As Scotland’s largest city, and the third most populous city in the UK, it is not surprising that Glasgow attracts companies from across the world. Nicki, who is originally from the city, was highly impressed with the quality of all of our serviced apartments there, with Lynedoch Crescent Apartments, situated in the West End, being her personal favourite. We feel it’s really important that members of our team see our apartments on a regular basis. It allows us to experience the apartments first-hand, enabling us to give our clients open and honest reviews of all our properties and ensuring we provide them with accommodation that meets their needs and expectations.

Two other popular business destinations in Scotland are Inverness and Aberdeen. We have a total of four serviced apartment profiles in Inverness and six in Aberdeen, and we expect the number of apartments we offer in both cities to grow even more over the coming months.
