Serviced apartment industry continues to climb

The serviced apartment industry continues to climb year after year, as more companies realise the benefits of apartments, especially for stays of seven days or longer.

A recent report in the Business Travel Magazine featured Mark Harris of the Travel Intelligence Network, stating, “The serviced apartment sector in the UK is showing extraordinary growth this year and some 57 per cent of the UK are now using serviced apartments to cut costs. The apartment environment is the perfect fit for the mobile, self-sufficient corporate traveller. Serviced apartments are taking market share from traditional corporate hotels, and the sector has a very bright future.”

Here at SilverDoor we have recognised not only the recent growth in the serviced apartments industry, but also the level of growth that the industry will be seeing over the next few years. We have been increasing our portfolio in many different locations and now feature over 42,000 apartments worldwide. However, with such growth being seen in the serviced apartment industry, it is not only necessary that we expand our portfolio of apartments, but that we expand physically as a company.

After what feels like years of planning and negotiating, we are finally expanding SilverDoor into the neighbouring office, 4 Dukes Gate. We are about to knock through to more than double our office space, enabling us to employ more people, have more resources and ensure that we can match the rise in business with a consistently high level of service that we have always promised our clients.

We plan to employ 14 more people by Easter 2011, taking the total number of employees up to 55. Included in these 14 new members of staff will be an additional 4 placement students. At the moment we have five placement students in Sales, Marketing and Accounts; next year this number will almost double as we take on nine students in total. We are already receiving applications for these positions and expect to get a lot more through in the near future.

We will keep you posted with regular updates through our Facebook page and our Twitter page. Add us and follow us now to hear the latest.
