Raising Money For Mind on Halloween and National Stress Awareness Day
6th November 2017

We love Halloween. We’re also a staunch supporter of mental health. So what better way to combine the two than with a week of fun-filled, fundraising activities for our chosen charity, Mind.

Things got off to a fangtastic start. Our social committee pulled out all the stops for Halloween with a payday lucky dip, trick or treat boxes, and pumpkin carving competition. Everyone got stuck in, and some fabulous prizes were won including chocolates and a bottle Prosseco.

We even hosted a special Halloween lunch. Phones were going off left, right and centre as people rushed to Instagram their favourite moments of the day. Here are just a few of the photos taken:

On National Stress Awareness Day, we thought we’d get creative with a holistic version of the classic game of chance, bingo. Everyone received their very own anti-stress bingo card, with tasks to complete like ‘stop and take a deep breath’ or ‘endorse someone on LinkedIn’. We can all be guilty of burning the candle at both ends, so it was great to break up the day with a few good deeds. Those taking part were quick to share their enthusiasm on social media using the hashtag #NationalStressAwarenessDay.

After ticking off all nine activities and having his name drawn out of a hat, Daniel Feather was our champion of the day, bagging a luxury spa treatment at Dolphin Square Apartments. For everyone else, there was a small victory of mindfulness.

Over the two days, we raised £118 for Mind, to add to the £1,855 already made so far this year, and are now well course to smash our target of £5,000 by August 2018. Last week’s events come hot off the heels of a charity auction we did in October, and, before that, a World Mental Health Day celebration involving yoga sessions and care packages.

At SilverDoor and Citybase Apartments we take mental health seriously and believe that an open-working environment is a happy one. Do your bit by making a donation to Mind.
