Choosing where to eat in a place like Singapore can be a great way to experience the cultural melting pot of the island. Here are our top 5 recommendations, whether you want to eat out with clients or just taste away the stresses of a day spent in the city’s markets.

1. No Signboard Seafood

If you’re around Fullerton Road (CBD district) head to No Signboard Seafood to try the chilli crab. Try to avoid wearing a white shirt as this famous local dish can get messy, as you’re not given claws to assist with cracking the crab shells - it’s all done by hand.

2. CUT Singapore

World famous chefs are queuing up to take prime spots within the extensive bar and fine-dining scene of Singapore and they don’t disappoint. CUT Singapore, Wolfgang Puck’s steak restaurant, has a menu that’s so good you’ll have to reserve a table days in advance.

3. Marina Bay Sands

Time a cocktail to coincide with the light, laser and sound show that takes place every evening at 20:00 and 21:30 (also 23:00 on Friday & Saturday) at Marina Bay Sands. It’s even more spectacular if you happen to be a guest, as you’ll be able to relax in the infinity pool on the 57th pool during the show.

4. China Town

The courtyards of street food vendors in China Town are a sight to behold even if you’re not brave enough to try some of the more obscure delicacies, such as chicken feet. All ages can be seen tucking into dishes at the communal tables: from young families and business men to the older generation using the tables to play drafts.

5. Food courts

You can’t go to Singapore without eating at a food court in one of the many shopping malls, where you can choose from some amazing dishes such as dim sum (Cantonese), pho (Vietnamese), nasi goreng (Indonesian) and an array of Indian curries. Food is generally quick, cheap and delicious.
