Three members of SilverDoor staff manned a stand today at the University of Greenwich Business School’s biannual placement fair. The event provided a great opportunity to make students aware of SilverDoor’s placement programme and gave prospective placement students a chance to discuss the options available to them.
The stand was manned by Raimonda Kiausaite, the Office and HR Manager; James Hood, a former placement student who’s now returned to SilverDoor; and Charlotte Marks, a current placement student. Armed with a tin of chocolates and plenty of information, they talked to students from the school about different elements of our placement programme, from the application process to London life.
Around 250 students visited the SilverDoor stand, from first year undergraduates to MBA students. Raimonda was particularly pleased that so many of the students had researched SilverDoor, demonstrating a great deal of enthusiasm for the placement programme. Placements are optional for students at the University of Greenwich Business School, but they offer a rare opportunity to gain the practical workplace experience that is so valued by employers.
SilverDoor’s placement programme will be entering its fifth year in 2012. The programme has grown each year and has been extremely successful. Several former placement students have returned to work at SilverDoor after their degrees and each year, the students’ new ideas and energy make an invaluable contribution to the company.
