When in Paris make time to visit:
- Eiffel Tower: an iconic symbol of Paris and the tallest structure within the city. The structure is also the most visited paid monument.

Transport
As a busy historic city, Paris is notorious for its levels of traffic. Luckily there is plenty to explore by foot. Alternatively, the wide pavements provide a great space for cycling and roller skating.
There’s also a comprehensive Metro system providing detailed maps to assist those who are new to the city with finding their way. The metro system consists of 303 stations and 16 lines connecting to distant urban areas.
Airport
There are two major airports serving the city:
- Paris-Charles de Gaulle is one of the busiest airports in the world and is a 30 minute drive north east from the city centre.
- Orly Airport is situated in the south of Paris.

Air France Lounge – La Premier is available to those with Business or First Class tickets with Air France, KLM and SkyTeam in Charles de Gaulle airport.
Other lounges are available for those not travelling in Business of First Class depending on availability and hours. Other airlines with lounges include Star Alliance and Emirates.

Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport is served by Paris’s extensive travel network providing quick and easy access to the city centre.
- Train - The RER regional train is one of the cheapest forms of transport and departs from Terminals 1 & 2, arriving in Paris Gare du Nord train station in 25-30 minutes.
- Taxi - Available from Terminals 1 & 2, the journey to the city centre takes around 45 minutes and the average fare is €40-€50.
- Car - Rentals are available from Terminals 1 & 2. However, the traffic and congestion should be taken into consideration as this is likely to increase driving time.
Schools
As the capital of the country, Paris is home to the most respected secondary schools including Lycée Louis-le-Grand. The city hosts the highest concentration of highly educated people, along with the most prestigious institutes for higher education that are outside of the traditional university structure. Public universities have mostly been relocated to the suburbs of Paris.

Paris has an oceanic climate, in line with most of Western Europe, providing the city with generally mild temperatures and little temperature change throughout the year. In the summer, the temperature usually sits between 15°c -20°c and in the winter from 1°c - 8°c. Rain is likely throughout the year making it moderately wet, with frost being common.
