"It seemed a good business idea at the time – and that turned out to be right." This week we celebrated SilverDoor’s 13th anniversary. Managing Director and founder, Marcus Angell, shares that, “the idea conceptualised from an evening chat over a gin and tonic. It seemed a good business idea at the time – and that turned out to be right”. In just 13 years SilverDoor has become Europe’s leading serviced apartment agency.

Originally starting out as HotDigs, the company grew steadily throughout its first year. “Our first client was a Hollywood superstar and with 60 bookings in our first year we worked hard to gain some excellent contacts who were looking for an alternative to hotels for their travellers”, Marcus further explains.

SilverDoor prides itself on its high level of service and has always worked hard to focus on consistency, reinvestment of profits, perfecting the business processes and building on the businesses reputation by always delivering what is promised.

SilverDoor now represents over 86,000 serviced apartments worldwide, in over 60 countries and 300 cities from London to Sydney, New York to Abu Dhabi and Aberdeen to Plymouth. We work with a large number of FTSE 100 clients, sourcing their accommodation for stays for anything between four nights and two years.

With two major expansions in its time and its third currently in progress, SilverDoor now has a team of over 70 dedicated, hard-working staff, who help to continually grow both our client and product portfolio, allowing  SilverDoor to become a well-known and highly respected brand within the serviced apartment industry.

Alongside several industry awards, SilverDoor have been placed in the top 20 in The Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For for two years in a row, which is an achievement we are extremely proud of. We continually strive to exceed expectations and with new clients, properties and property partners being added to our portfolio on a daily basis, there is certainly no sign of slowing down.
