Cinemas in London

Cinemas in London
23rd July 2014

If you’re travelling to London and you're a film enthusiast then we've compiled some of the most unique cinemas in the capital. Whether you prefer blockbusters, independents or the classics; diet coke or champagne - London offers a film experience to suit all.

1. Odeon – Leicester Square

This is perhaps one of the most famous cinemas in London as it sees many stars walk its red carpet for numerous high-profile film premiers. The Odeon is surrounded by bars and restaurants and is a ten minute walk from Covent Garden. We recommend staying in Leicester Square Apartments, which provide ideal corporate accommodation.

2. The Electric – Notting Hill

This independent cinema mixes blockbusters with classic and art-house films. Unlike the mainstream cinemas with worn away chairs and minimal leg room, The Electric provides luxurious leather armchairs, six double beds and two-seater sofas. The in-house bar serves cocktails, wine, champagne, beer and a selection of cinema snacks before the start of every film. Ladbroke Grove tube station is a 5 minute walk away and if you're staying in the area we recommend staying in Space Apartments.

3. BFI IMAX cinema – South Bank

The BFI IMAX cinema is owned by the British Film Institute and has the largest cinema screen in Britain. It’s also one of the most technically impressive cinemas in the country with a 26m x 20m screen and an incredible digital surround sound system showcasing 3D documentaries, mainstream movies and children’s films. Looking for a serviced apartment in Southbank? We suggest the Waterloo Apartments.

4. Everyman Cinema – Hampstead

One of the best things about Everyman Cinema is that customers can book a private club suite which seats just two people; making the cinema feel like home. Customer service is paramount to the Everyman Cinemas with a waiter service where you can replace your deep fill diet coke for a glass of champagne. They're also available for private hire and will cater anything from business conferences to private screenings. Savernake House offers the perfect spacious accommodation nearby.

5. Roxy Bar & Screen – Borough

Roxy Bar & Screen provides an intimate and homely screening area with sofas and tables. The menu ranges from sandwiches to grilled rump steak that can be brought straight to your table before your showing begins. The cinema is available for private hire and also screens events such as live sports. The nearby Webber Street Apartments offer the necessary facilities to cater for long-term and short-term stays.
