We’re usually a well-dressed bunch at SilverDoor and Citybase Apartments but for one day a year we dig out our best/worst Christmas jumpers to support Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.
This year, as well as collecting a couple of quid from everyone adorning their festive sweaters (some complete with baubles, lights and Santa hats) we also put on a bake off/sale and ran a social media competition amongst our staff.
The bake off, judged by the wonderful John ‘Hollywood’ Crane and Lucy ‘Berry’ Kirkwood, was a close contest between some beautiful bakes, but Kimberly O’Higgins’ fairy cakes came out on top. As the two engorged judges rolled back to their desks, the bake sale kicked off. Judging by the near instant demolition of most of what was on offer, we’d say it was a major success!
Our social media competition had some rather interesting entries. Tasked with getting the photo with the most number of likes on our Facebook page, teams got their creative juices flowing. However, as with anything number based, the Finance team meant business and managed to rack up 232 likes!
And so, as our Christmas Jumper Day comes to a close, it’s worth remembering the reason behind today, Save the Children. We’re proud to have been able to raise over £230 across our London, Lancaster and Singapore offices for a charity that does much amazing work for young people in the UK and around the world. If you’d like to donate too, simply text SAVE to 70050 to give £2.
