As a new starter at SilverDoor, I’m anxious to get to know the ins and outs of the serviced apartment industry. What better way then, than to head to the place which forms a nice proportion of our business: The City of London. For those unfamiliar with this mysterious business hub - here are a few facts:
The City of London is also known as the Square Mile (1.12 square miles in area).
The City has its own council and Lord Mayor.
Daily commuters: approximately 300,000.
The area is defined by a boundary of black, white and red bollards which bear the City’s emblem.
Here’s what I got up to when I undertook my very first SilverDoor City Walk, stopping off to view five separate properties on my way…
I arrived at Farringdon for my meeting at The Rosebery. The apartments were light, spacious and corporate. Amenities included a gym in the basement and an eclectically furnished Italian wine bar - perfect for a post-work tipple!
Next were the Barbican Apartments. Although snug, the studio, one and two bedroom apartments were well-maintained, comfortable and considering the location – affordable!
Queen Street Apartments was my next stop. These serviced apartments were furnished and decorated to a high standard. The toiletries were expensive and guests at these apartments are offered a welcome pack.
Then it was the turn of 92 Middlesex Street. I viewed the two bedroom penthouse which has a spacious living/dining area - ideal for entertaining.
A two minute walk away and I was facing London Liverpool Street Station. The final property on my list was Bishopsgate Apartments. I had a peak at one of the enormous penthouse suites which contained comfortable conference areas and amazing views of the City.
The walk took me around two and a half hours to complete. I was so glad to have viewed the apartments against the backdrop of the City. Don't forget that SilverDoor offers a wide range of serviced apartments in London which are ideal for your next business trip.
