Marcus Angell

Founder & Chairman

Marcus is the founder and Chairman of the Habicus Group, which incorporates the serviced apartment businesses of both SilverDoor and Ariosi. In September 2021 Habicus Group purchased, and integrated into the group, the TAS Global group of serviced apartment companies, which included The Apartment Service and GSAIR businesses. Earlier, in May 2016, Habicus Group purchased the Lancaster based serviced apartment agency business Citybase Apartments, and integrated that company into the group. He founded SilverDoor in early 2000 and he and his wife, Angie, are together the sole owners of the company and of the wider Habicus Group.

Marcus is originally a Lancastrian from Preston, and was schooled in Blackburn. His early career was in the property and construction industries, and having completed a MSc in Building Heritage and Conservation, he ventured to London in early 2000 and founded the company. Since then SilverDoor has grown to become the largest independent serviced apartment agency in the world, with offices in London, Lancaster, Singapore, Denver, Hyderabad, Madrid and Dubai.

As the group Chairman, Marcus is ultimately responsible for the group’s strategic growth and business planning strategies. Marcus and Angie have two young adult sons and live in the leafy Chiltern Hills of Buckinghamshire. They are all cricket-mad.
